HAPPY EARTH DAY!

Happy Earth Day! 

Wow did we ever accomplish a lot of stuff. The day before Earth Day the kids worked diligently on presentations on Land, Water and Air pollution that they planned to present to the whole family after dinner. This was an absolutely impressive project that they accomplished. We also took a walk to collect bottles and cans found around our neighborhood.

Matthew found old round buttons in my craft box and turned them all into replicas of our Earth. He then used pipe cleaners and created bracelets for both Kristen and myself to wear today. What an awesome piece of jewelry and both of us proudly wore these masterpieces all day long.

We took our collected cans and bottles to the Disney Store today and all got baseball caps made out of recycled bottles. Dairy Queen has a special going on and we all got blizzards at buy one get one for 25 cents. We stopped by Babies R Us and they gave us each a free reusable shopping bag. These were such fun activities.

We dropped Lauren off for her therapies at Easter Seals and Kristen, Matthew and I went over to our local park to collect items for the children to use in their terrariums today. The hike was fantastic and the weather could not have been more gorgeous. Beautiful blue sky, lots of sunshine. We found all kinds of treasures to use today. Kristen found a May flower with a bloom on it and we carefully transplanted one to a pot to use in our centerpiece for dinner tonight.

The tablescape was absolutely fun. On our hike, Kristen picked up a lot of tiny sticks and created a sign that states Earth Day on a blue piece of cardboard.

After dinner, the kids really surprised everyone with their beautiful, impressive message on taking care of our Earth. This was truly a fabulous day.

Today this 4oth Anniversary of Earth Day.  We hope everyone tries do any small change to live greener.  We are making sure we recycle and we have also gone through our plastics and have removed any "not so good" plastics from our houses and from our everyday lives.

Steer clear of plastic containers found to release the chemicals Bisphenol-A (BPA) or phthalates, toxins that have been linked to abnormal development. Check the recycling code number on the bottom of the product, avoiding No. 3, No. 6, and No. 7.

We have even gone through our Tupperware Collection.  Some Tupperware doesnt have the "good" plastic in them.  We found that we own the Tupperware Rock-N-Serve that has actually been pulled from the Tupperware line.  You can find more information on the Tupperware HERE.
